Dreamspace 2026
13th Apr 2026
Dream Space provides immersive, research-based STEM experiences for students to enhance their STEM skills alongside crucial social-emotional skills such as empathy, creativity, ethical decision making and collaboration. Dream Space empowers everyone to see the power of digital technology and STEM in exciting new ways and the crucial role that these areas have now and into the future.
After completing a series of lessons and hands-on activities on coding and how we can use microbits with projects, we divided into 7 different groups. Each group set to work on creating projects to tackle one of the global goals. It took a lot of brainstorming, teamwork, testing, bug fixing and creating to complete our projects. Everyone worked hard in their groups to create working prototypes, code their microbits and make displays to showcase their learning.
We were very grateful to Longford County Council for supplying us with 8 new laptops to help us with our projects this year!
We had a fantastic day out in Edgeworthstown at the Longford Showcase and were delighted to come away with two awards:
Runner up in the 'Most Innovative Project'
Runner up in the 'Climate Action Team Champion'
Have a look at our video showing us preparing for the showcase and some snippets from the day!
